Carbon Advisory

Carbon Project Development & Advisory

We work across the carbon project lifecycle — from pre-validation and methodology assessment through MRV design, stakeholder engagement, and validation readiness.

Methodology frameworks

We advise on methodology selection and applicability across recognised frameworks including Verra (VCS), Gold Standard, Article 6, and the International Carbon Registry (ICR). Methodology selection and applicability analysis are always specific to the project — we do not recommend a methodology without first assessing whether its conditions are genuinely met.

Service components

Six service components, one carbon practice.

We assess whether a proposed project is likely to meet the eligibility requirements of its target methodology. This covers additionality tests, baseline feasibility, permanence risks, and any jurisdiction-specific constraints — before a developer commits resources to full project development.

We review or support the drafting of Project Design Documents across recognised carbon standard frameworks. We advise on methodology selection, review applicability conditions, check emission reduction calculations for methodological consistency, and identify documentation gaps before submission.

A structured review of technical readiness, documentation completeness, financial viability alignment, and registry requirements. We produce a readiness report that gives developers a clear, honest picture of what stands between them and successful third-party validation — without requiring them to engage a validation body first.

We design monitoring, reporting, and verification frameworks that satisfy registry requirements and withstand third-party audit. This includes field data collection workflows, monitoring plan documentation, data integrity systems, and the audit trail structure that verification bodies require.

Free, Prior and Informed Consent is a validation requirement, not a formality. We support the design of FPIC processes, community engagement planning, stakeholder mapping, and social risk identification — ensuring that community and social requirements are structured correctly and documented in a form that satisfies registry standards.

Project teams and community data collectors need to understand methodology requirements at the implementation level. We provide practical training on methodology application, MRV data collection, field documentation practices, and project execution requirements for both project developer teams and implementation partners.

Operating model

End-to-end carbon project execution

01

Assessment

Identify project viability, regulatory requirements, and carbon potential, including stakeholder consultations and risk analysis.

02

Project Design

Develop project documentation, apply methodologies, and define baselines and implementation structure, incorporating stakeholder inputs.

03

Audit Readiness

Establish robust MRV systems and prepare projects to successfully pass validation and verification.

04

Issuance

Manage registry submissions and coordinate validation and verification processes for credit issuance.

05

Commercialisation

Support market entry, structure offtake agreements, and connect projects to carbon buyers and finance.

Whether at early assessment or post-issuance, we step in at any stage to strengthen project integrity and delivery.
